While most of our events do not have a strict dress code, we still recommend that you dress to make a good first impression. * Note, if a particulat event (such as our New Years Eve Party) has a dress code, we will disclose it within the description of the event.

All ages on our website are listed as "Recommended." We are strict about age insofar as requiring that someone be within the age group mentioned within the title of an event. For example, if an event's title is "Singles Ages 20s & 30s" and the "recommended ages" are 25-38, you may still sign up for this event if you are 21-39 because you still fall within the age range of "20s & 30s." If you are 42 for example, you can sign up for an event whose title is "30s & 40s" or "40s & 50s."

Our events start at the scheduled time. We recommend that you try to arrive at least 15 minutes to half an hour before start time. This would allow you time to register with our hostess and settle in. If a person shows up past the start time, they may still participate in the dating lineup. But arriving late means that you will get fewer dates than the people who show up on time.

You can talk about many things. For example: What you do for fun, What sports do you like, What you expect to get out of speed dating, to name a few.

Do not ask your date for his or her contact information directly or for a second date (the fun part about speed dating is the pressure free feeling). You are not allowed to pressure someone to answer questions they do not want to answer. You are also not allowed to ask sexual, lewd, or inappropriate questions to any participant, or make any sexual, lewd, or inappropriate remarks.

NY Minute Dating is NOT an online dating website. You cannot create a profile on our website, view other users' profiles, or send and receive messages to and from other users. We are strictly an events company with a focus on events for single people.

We prefer that people sign up for our events online so we know exactly how many men and women will be attending the event. However, on some occasions if space is available, then we might allow you to participate. There is an additional $10 added to the price ticket when you pay at the event.

NY Minute Dating was founded in 2007. We dedicate our time and efforts to growing NY Minute Dating so that more and more single men and women could meet.

We try to have events as often as possible. Currently we have about 7 different speed dating events per week, and about 1 or 2 singles parties per month.

Our policy is that each member be single or not otherwise attached. We do not perform any checks to verify the marital status of any participant. Such checks are the responsibility of the participant seeking such information. Divorced and separated persons who consider themselves "single" are allowed to register.

We would appreciate timely notification of a planned absence because it would give us enough time to offer your spot to someone on the waiting list. You qualify for a refund so long as you give us at least 5 days notice of an absence. However, we do understand that last minute emergencies do happen. While we won't be able to give you a refund at that point, we will credit your account for a future event, that way you do not lose your money and get the event you paid for.

If you purchased a Gift Certificate online or over the phone and requested that it be emailed, we email it to the recipient the same day. If you purchased a gift certificate online or via phone and you requested that it be mailed, we will put it in the mail the same day and it should arrive at the recipient's address as fast as the U.S. mail delivers it.

If you recently purchased a voucher on LivingSocial, the following info should help you redeem your voucher successfully:

    * Pick an event from our Event Schedule.
    * Click on Sign Up Now for the event.
    * On the registration page, enter your information. On the promo code field enter your voucher number.

    * If you plan to attend an event with a guest, enter "2" in the quantity of tickets on the registration page of the event.

If you and someone pick each other, then you are a mutual "match," and will be able to see his/her email and phone number (sharing phone number is optional). You can bring a friend for support but he/she cannot participate in the event unless they are a registered participant.

NY Minute Dating caters to professional men and women from the NY/NJ metro area who are usually too busy to meet someone special on their own. We do our best to bring together an equal number of men and women to our events. We hand select all our hosts that way you have someone there who can walk you through everything and make sure you are comfortable and having fun at every moment. Our customer service replies to everyone's questions the same day.

NY Minute Dating holds events mainly in Manhattan. However, we plan to begin holding events in other parts of NYC, including Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx. Generally, we do not provide free food or beverages at our events. Many of our venues offer food and beverages for purchase. We try to arrange all our events during happy hour, so that when our events are at lounges, refreshments are very affordable. For some large events (events with 100 or more participants) we some times provide food. If we do provide food, it will be complimentary light appetizers (not dinner), and we cannot guarantee that every person will get an opportunity to eat, because the amount of food at our events is limited. And so we stronly recommend you eat before attending our events.
